Midsummer Updates
Last month, I had the pleasure of participating in Naropa's Summer Writing Program. This year's theme was "The Capitalocene." My workshop – with the inimitable poet Lisa Robertson – focused on the concept of "communal luxury" and writing from the body.
At the end of the workshop, we presented a collective manifesto to the program. Many of us also shared writing at the open mic on Friday. Outside of the workshop, we became friends and explored Boulder and surrounding mountains.
Since then, I've had a short story, "Salt and Calcium," published in Columbia Journal. It follows the the transmission of violence from generation to generation, as well as the ossification of a partner.
